5 Special Wedding Hotels in Ireland that offer something different. Week 1

The Good Hustle perform at weddings in every corner of Ireland, big, small, ritzy and casual. We do weddings in Cork, Dublin, Galway and Donegal, and even travel internationally on occasion too!

We love a good wedding party, and much like in business, your location for an amazing celebration is the most important thing! There are some spectacular venues available that you mightn't be aware of as you seek that perfect place for your big day. For the next 5 weeks we will feature a cool place that we have loved playing weddings at. Each will offer a different feel and vibe. Each will be unique and excellent. Maybe it will give you an idea!

Week 1. The Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, Clifden, Co. Galway.

The Abbeyglen is like a gem hidden deep in the heart of connemara. With breathtaking scenery for your big day it is one of the most picturesque locations in the west of Ireland, however that alone is not the reason why we at The Good Hustle love this place.

Inside is a fantastic blend of quaint, opulent, casual and classy. The GM and host with the most, one Mr. Brian Hughes, is as exuberant a host as you could wish to meet. Everyone is given the VIP treatment, and weddings there are something special, memorable and different.

The rooms at the Abbeyglen are simply stunning, and its boutique in that no two rooms are the same. They are all lovingly designed and you feel really special when you get a room at this castle hotel.

The food is top notch. All of their produce is local I am told, and you can taste the class and art in the cooking. We have been invited to eat there several times and just can't say enough good things about it. Band favorites are wild salmon when available, guinea fowl, and perfectly done roast beef!

For your wedding night its off to the function room located behind the piano bar (more on that later). It's just a great room to play. The maximum guests the Abbeyglen host for weddings is 150, and with that the function room is always hopping. There is a covered, heated patio for smokers and the atmosphere is electric.

The sense of fun that permeates this place is hard to put in words, everyone always mingles at the Abbeyglen; everyone seems to get swept away in the magic. We suggest that if you are considering booking your wedding at the Abbeyglen, to go there and spend a weekend night soaking up the atmosphere. You will see what we mean!

The hotel boasts a rather infamous piano bar that can be utilised for wedding after-parties which have been known (by us and many others) to go till 5AM and beyond. Everyone is invited to join in, sing, dance, and stomp their feet. Participation flows easily. People who normally wouldn't classify themselves as extroverts seem to relax in the Abbeyglen, and with a drink or two their inhibitions seem to lift. It's part of the magic of this special place. The personal service, unique atmosphere, and relaxed yet classy fun make this an amazing place and a unique location to celebrate your wedding. Find out more here and tell them we sent you for the VIP treatment.
